Rusape Centre

Mukuwapasi Centre located in Rusape was established in 1968, It is one of the Association’s pioneer programmes for integrated education. The centre offers rehabilitation services to children with disabilities. Currently the centre has 65 clients who are under its care manned by a qualified nurse and Rehabilitation Technician. The centre provides accommodation for children with disabilities. Activities at the centre include provision of accessible accommodation, welfare and rehabilitation activities to blind and disabled boys and girls with disabilities who are integrated into nearby St. Faith Primary and Secondary schools for reverse integration. Apart from providing quality rehabilitation services to the clients, the centre provides rehabilitation services to the community. These services are offered for free as part of a community capacity initiative whereby community members apart from receiving the services are capacitated with basic rehabilitation and care giving skills to enable them assist their families and communities. The centre also has a library and a clinic which also caters for the local rural community.
