Picture
The Silobela Old people’s Home was built on a 20 hectare farm, which was donated by the Government in 1979. The old age home and farm located in the Midlands Province is the largest of the Association’s assets emphasis is on the welfare of the 60 destitute residents with disabilities, who are frail and weak in order for them to live out their remaining years in peace and dignity. The centre was strategically built next to Loreto Roman Catholic Mission which runs a primary and secondary school and a small rural hospital with basic facilities where our needy inmates normally receive medical attention and also provides a social environment and an opportunity for work activity. Silobela centre provides counselling services, food, entertainment and other welfare needs to ensure that aged clients live a comfortable life. Infrastructure at the centre comprises of 160 hectares of land, an administration block and dormitories, three boreholes with complete set of overhead irrigation pipes.
